![]() Got a 7.5.5 boot disk, but thats too old a system for the 2400c. Then I should be able to read the floppy. Im now currently trying to find a System 7.6.1 installer so I can build a boot disk. In retrospect, it seems to definitely be an OS issue with this laptop since it comes up with a window that sez: 400K floppys cannot be read with this version of system software or something like that. PC floppy drives are cheaper and only support a single spin speed. ![]() Steve Wozniak is responsible for 400k and 800k disks - he wrote the driver that allowed for variable spin speed (or something like that) to allow for more data to be on the diskette. ![]() Floppy 800K For Windows Driver That Allowed I think it only applies to MFS disks, not HFS disks So, if you had a 400K HFS disk, itd be all right (since its like a 800K disk, only using one side). Hell, most of them dont quite work with 800K Mac formatted floppies (although they work with the 720k formatted DOS floppies.same disk, even). Floppy 800K For Windows Driver That Allowed. ![]()
